INDONESIA RUSSIA HISTORY & BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY AMID CRISIS
Indonesia and Russia have strengthened their economic ties and explored potential areas of cooperation, including through the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) signed in 2019. As members of the G20, both countries have actively participated in the international forum to promote global economic cooperation and decision-making. Through their involvement in the G20, both countries have contributed to shaping global economic policy and advancing cooperation on various economic issues such as trade, investment, financial regulation, and climate change. Russia is a member of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), which can serve as a gateway for Indonesian products to enter the EAEU market, which includes four other member countries, namely Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan. On December 5th 2022, Indonesia and Russia launched negotiations for the Indonesia-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (I-EAEU FTA). On this occasion, we will hold a webinar entitled “Indonesia-Russia History & Business Opportunities Amid Crisis”, which is an online webinar event that will discuss the history and business opportunities between Indonesia and Russia, related to all challenges in the current situation. The event will be attended by Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Alexander Svinin, the Indonesian ambassador to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Jose Antonio Morato Tavares, Madam Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Indonesia Mrs. Lyudmila Vorobieva. In this webinar, distinguished speakers will discuss the history of the relationship between Indonesia and Russia, as well as the business potential between the two countries. They will also discuss the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and current challenges to trade and investment between the two countries, and ways to overcome these challenges. This webinar will provide an opportunity for participants to expand their knowledge about Indonesia-Russia relations, as well as business opportunities between the two countries. Participants can also interact with the speakers and gain direct insights. It is expected that participants can gain a better understanding of the business potential between Indonesia and Russia in this event.
